General Information

This is the tenth Chemistry in the Oil Industry symposium in a series organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry. For the fourth time this symposium is being co-sponsored by EOSCA (European Oilfield Speciality Chemicals Association).

The symposium will endeavour to highlight the technological and operational impact of REACH regulations over the next decade and OSPARCOM regulatory structures anticipated to come into effect by 2020. Recognition of technology gaps and how they might be filled is of great relevance. In addition the symposium will cover aspects of chemistry in the upstream and downstream oil industry including flow assurance , integrity management, technologies for sub-sea and deep water operations, separation, corrosion and biological control, scale, drilling fluids, advanced chemical deployment, refinery process applications and novel chemistry.

Those who should attend include personnel from oil companies, service companies, chemical manufacturers, independent research organisations, universities and environmental testing laboratories.

Location

The symposium will be held in the Manchester Conference Centre, Weston Building, Sackville Street, Manchester which is adjacent to UMIST. Manchester is convenient for the motorway networks and only 10 miles from Manchester Airport. There is ample public car parking space near the venue.

Exhibition and Poster Display

An exhibition and poster display will be held on 6th and 7th November in the Exhibition Lounge at the Manchester Conference Centre. All refreshment breaks will be served in and outside the Exhibition Lounge allowing ample time for delegates to view exhibits.

Exhibitors may hire more than one exhibition space if required. Electrical power points will be within easy reach of the display areas. Splitter boxes are not provided. It would be wise to bring spotlights to enhance your stand. Tables can be provided if required.

The cost for an exhibition space is £400+VAT. Special rates for exhibitors are available for companies sponsoring the Symposium (see below). If any personnel manning the stand are not registered to attend the symposium then there will be the following extra charges:-
