EGEST Disclaimer

The EOSCA Generic Exposure Scenario Tool, EGEST, has been developed by BMT Cordah for the European Oilfield Speciality Chemicals Association (EOSCA). The tool is designed to enable a First Tier Assessment for exposure of workers handling chemicals in the oil and gas production industry together with a Marine Environmental Assessment should the substances be discharged to sea. These are required to support chemical use under the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation.
The Exposure Scenario assessment is in line with principles of the European Centre for Ecotoxicology and Toxicology of Chemicals (ECETOC) Targeted Risk Assessment (TRA) and the HSE’s Estimation and Assessment of Substance Exposure (EASE). Environmental assessment is based on the well known and accepted Chemical Hazard Assessment and Risk Management (CHARM) model. The tool is provided in good faith and, while EOSCA believes that the tool will generate results accurately from the original information entered into the tool, no representations or warranties are made with regards to the accuracy or completeness of such results, and no liability will be accepted for damages of any nature whatsoever by EOSCA, Briar Technical Services Ltd. or BMT Cordah, resulting from the use or reliance on this tool or the results generated by it.
Copying is allowed, except for commercial purposes and re-engineering, provided that the source is mentioned and acknowledged. The tool is not supported and users install and use it at their own risk. The tool is designed as an EXCEL 2003 or 2007 spreadsheet requiring macros to be enabled.
