How private is my data?
NECCS allows only authenticated users to access the system. Users
must enter a valid user name and password to access the system. On a networked system your
Administrator will set up your user name and password, and can reset your password in
emergencies. You have control over your own password, and can change it any time. No one can
see your current password.

Backup |
What files do I need to back up to protect my copy of NeCCS?
You should make a regular backup copy of your NeCCS database. This file is found where the
NeCCS program is installed, for example, the default folder for a single user installation is:
c:\program files\Reay Systems Ltd\NeCCS\database. Backup both files from this folder. You
should also make sure you include your license file, which may have been supplied separately
to your CD. (This file has a .rsl file extension). In the event of having to reinstall your
software you will need your license file as well as your CD and database.

Import from CHARM |
How can I use my existing data from the CHARM Calculator?
NECCS allows you to import data from the CHARM Calculator’s CH2 files. (File, Import from
CH2 file). The data is mapped to a minimum dataset, and a window displays all the values read
from the CH2 file, so that further values can be copied into the NECCS database as required.
This facility is provided for files from version 2.3 of CHARM Calculator only.

Licensing |
What happens to my NeCCS license if I have to uninstall and re-install my software?
Your license is provided in a separate license file, which you must keep carefully.
If you need to re-install NeCCS, you can add your license again from your license file. Also
if you delete your license from your database, it can be re-added on the same PC, as long as
you have your file available.

What are Hazard Quotients and Risk Quotients?
The purpose of NECCS is to calculate hazard quotients and risk quotients for chemicals
being used in drilling, production, cementing, completion and workover. The quotient is
expressed as the ratio of PEC to PNEC. PEC is the Predicted Environmental Concentration,
and is different for each substance in each application. PNEC is the Predicted No Effect
Concentration, and for any substance is the same in each application. If standard reference
platform data is used (either oil or gas) then the resulting quotient is the Hazard Quotient
for the substance. If specific platform data is used then the result is the Risk Quotient for
the substance. To read more see the further information section on the help index.

Audit trail |
Is there any way to track changes to the data?
All actions where the data is changed are logged with the date and time and the current
user’s ID. No history is kept, so only the id and time for the latest edit is available.

Dilution Factors |
